A native of Switzerland Madeleine Caruzzo received violin lessons since she was age seven. She studied under Tibor Varga at the Music Academy Detmold, Germany and immediately after her examination in concert music she received a teaching assignment. She was concertmaster in the chamber orchestra Tibor Varga and was accepted as the first female member by the Berlin Philharmonic in 1982. Besides
her duties in the orchestra, Madeleine Caruzzo made appearances as soloist
and plays the violin as well as the viola da braccio in various chamber
music ensembles such as the Metropolis Ensemble Berlin, the Philharmonic
Stringsoloists as well as the Haydn-Ensemble Berlin. |
